Minimally invasive Surgery Program
BASIC Level
The FTMISP for Urology is divided in 2 levels: BASIC and EXPERT and each level is composed by individual courses (the “steps” of the Program).
The BASIC Level for Urology includes the First TOUCH, Second TOUCH and Uro TOUCH.
First TOUCH
Introduction to Surgical Residency Course
First TOUCH is the main door to the whole FTMIS Program.
Covering a wide range of abdominal pathologies, fundamentals of surgery, wounds, and acute surgical treatment, the FT helps the new residents to start Residency with more confidence and autonomy.
At the end of the course, trainees learn the basics of laparoscopy and receive their own First Trainer® and laparoscopic instruments.
Second TOUCH
Introduction to Minimally Invasive Surgery and Laparoscopic Suture Course.

After the First Touch Course, the Second Touch prepares trainees for the next steps of the program as it covers the fundamentals of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Laparoscopic Suture.​
Uro TOUCH
General Laparoscopic Urology Course
​
Covering a wide range of urological pathologies but with a special focus in partial nephrectomy, and its technical aspects, tips and tricks.
​
The course ends with a simulation session on MIS partial nephrectomy and tumor enucleation.
